The Origins of Esperanto

Bridge of Words: Esperanto and the Dream of a Universal Language by Esther Shor is coming out October 4th this year and I am really interested in reading it. I always thought it was kind of a linguistic geek thing until i got into the workforce and realized that about three-quarters of my clients were people who spoke English as a second language. (Right now I have clients on six continents.) One of those clients, an Icelander, actually speaks Esperanto, although he also speaks English fluently. I feel so inadequate when I'm in meetings with him. (And Icelandic is one of those languages that is notoriously difficult to learn.)
